Making Your Papers Official

Austrian universities check that foreign papers are real before they admit you.

Papers from India
  • Get an apostille (a stamp from India's Ministry of External Affairs that shows a paper is real).
  • Then get a translation into German or English if needed.
Papers from Pakistan
  • First, legalisation by the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Then the check by the Austrian Embassy in Islamabad, booked through VFS Global (a visa centre company).
  • The embassy check can take 3 months.
Translations
  • Papers not in German or English need an official translation.
  • Translate after the stamps are added, so the stamps are translated too.
