Student Housing in Germany
There are not enough homes in big German cities like Munich. Start early, apply for a student hall (student housing), and never pay before you see the place. Amounts are in euro (EUR).
Types of Housing
Your main choices are a student hall, a room in a shared flat, or your own flat.
| Accommodation Type | Average Cost | Pros | Cons |

Avoiding Scams
The Germany rental market has its share of scams targeting international students. To protect yourself:
- Do not pay any deposit or rent before you see the flat in person and sign the contract.
- Do not share copies of your ID before you check the offer is real.
- Be careful if an offer is very cheap or someone pressures you to decide fast.
