What Makes Malta Different
Four reasons, each with its rule.
English in an EU country
Courses are taught in English, and English is an official language. Malta has been in the European Union (EU) since 2004.
A route in from Class 12
UM has a one-year foundation year, a course before a bachelor's, for students who finished Class 12 in India or Intermediate (HSSC) in Pakistan.
Work while you study
Degree students may work up to 20 hours a week. You need an Employment Licence (work permit) from Jobsplus, Malta's public employment service.
Time to find a job
After you finish, you can stay to look for work. Once you have a job, your employer applies for a Single Permit (Malta's work and residence permit).
