Housing and Your Permit
Finding and Securing Housing
As soon as you are accepted

- Ask about lease registration.
Before your visa appointment
- Get proof of where you will live for the visa. India: proof for your first six months. Pakistan: proof for your first 14 nights.
After you arrive
- Get the Housing Authority approval and the attestation form.
- Give them with your residence permit application.
Reliable Platforms
Campus Hub (book through UM's page)

Required Documents
For off-campus housing in Malta, you'll typically need to provide the following documents:
- 1Signed lease
Full address, your name as on your passport, and the landlord's full name and ID card number.
- 2Housing Authority approval
Shows the lease is registered.
- 3Lease Agreement Attestation Form
Signed by the landlord and a lawyer, notary or legal procurator (legal officials who check and stamp papers).
Avoiding Problems
The Malta rental market has its share of scams targeting international students. To protect yourself:
- Identità, the Maltese government office for residence permits, does not accept unclear booking letters, or a friend's address with no signed papers.
- A lease that is not registered with the Housing Authority is a warning sign for your permit.
