Application Tips

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

Even qualified applicants can face rejection due to application errors. Be aware of these common mistakes to increase your chances.

Missing translations

Some programmes want your papers translated by an official translator approved in Mexico (a perito).

Low Spanish level

UNAM exchange students need a Spanish test (DELE or SIELE) at level B2, an upper-middle level. A UNAM master's may ask for C1, an advanced level.

Paying third parties

UNAM does not use outside agents for admission. Do not pay anyone who says they can get you in.
