Marks

A school leaving certificate for a bachelor's, and a bachelor's degree for a master's.

Language

Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI): English (IELTS or TOEFL). Public universities: mostly French, some Arabic.

How to apply

Public universities: only through the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI). Private universities: apply directly.

Pakistan: AMCI conditions

For AMCI scholarships through Pakistan's Higher Education Commission (HEC): for a bachelor's, you must be 19 to 23 and have at least a Fairly Good result. For a master's, your bachelor's must be at least Good. People with 2 nationalities (dual nationals) cannot apply.

Requirements by level

From AUI, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and AMCI.

By study level

1Bachelor's

AUI: last 3 years of school marks, the school leaving certificate, the General Admission Test (GAT) and an interview.
AMCI: final-year report cards, then the final certificate. The age limit is 19 to 23, depending on the school.

2Master's

AUI: a bachelor's with marks of B or better in the last years.
AMCI: a bachelor's with at least a Good result.
FGSES (UM6P): grades from the first 4 bachelor's semesters and an interview.

3PhD

AMCI: a master's degree or equal, plus a thesis project.

Undergraduate Tests

1General Admission Test (GAT), AUI

AUI's entrance test of reasoning skills.

Students who are not Moroccan citizens take it by speaking, not writing.

Graduate Tests

1FGSES (UM6P) interview

Part of the master's admission at the Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences (FGSES).

30 minutes, in person or by video.

Note: Private universities set their own tests.

English test scores (AUI)

English Proficiency Requirements

AUI teaches in English. Students whose language of study was not English take IELTS or TOEFL.

Score Validity

Check the test provider’s score validity rules and your university’s requirements.

Possible Exemptions

You may be exempt from English proficiency requirements in certain cases:

A degree from an institution that teaches in English (you still take a writing test to place you in the right class).

For international students

International students face several additional requirements beyond those for domestic applicants. These ensure that you can successfully transition to studying in Morocco and comply with immigration regulations.

Equivalence

Some public universities ask for proof that your degree matches a Moroccan degree.

Some ask for it before you finish joining.

Not an online visa (e-visa): with an e-visa you cannot get a residence card, the police card that lets you stay more than 90 days.
