After You Arrive

Address Registration in Morocco

Morocco has no separate town registration for students. Your address is recorded when you get your residence card from the police (the card that lets you stay in Morocco for more than 90 days). If you move, you tell the police.

Registration Basics

How Morocco records your address

Your address goes on file with the police when you ask for your residence card (in French: carte d'immatriculation). You do not go to the town hall.

Time limits

Ask for your residence card before your first 90 days in Morocco end. Tell the police when you change your address.

Who to tell
Two places need your address.

Police foreigners' office

The foreigners' office of the police in your city (in French: Bureau des Etrangers) records your address on your residence card file. In villages, go to the Gendarmerie (rural police).

Your university

Keep your address up to date with your university's student office.
