Finding a Room

As soon as you are admitted

  • Look at the university's list of housing.

When you move in

  • Get the TM.30 slip from your landlord.
  • Keep it for your extension of stay.

Reliable Platforms

  • AIT Accommodation office

Helps with campus rooms and, if none are free, with off-campus rooms.

  • MUIC list of housing

Required Documents

For off-campus housing in Thailand, you'll typically need to provide the following documents:

  • 1
    Papers for the TM.30

Your landlord needs copies of your passport photo page, your visa page, your departure card (the card you got at immigration when you arrived) and your rent agreement.

Costs

Housing is the largest monthly cost for most students.

Additional Costs to Consider

  • Utilities (water, power and similar bills) near MUIC

Add this if bills are not in your rent.

    THB 2,000 to THB 4,000 a month

Location Considerations

  • Travel

AIT and MUIC are outside central Bangkok. Plan how you will travel to the city and what it will cost.

Tips

Ask early. Campus rooms are limited, so contact the housing office as soon as you are admitted.

Check if the rent includes bills.

Ask the landlord to file the TM.30 and give you the slip.

At AIT, married-student housing and Category 2 rooms do not come with bed sheets. Bring your own.
