The Enrolment Process

The order of steps after you land.

Visit the international office: Your university must help you with your residence papers.
Finish enrolment: Follow your university's steps and hand in your papers.
Get your enrolment record: A signed copy of your electronic enrolment record.
Apply for residence: Online through RaDEX, from inside Argentina.

How it links to your residence

Your university tells the National Directorate of Migration (DNM), the immigration office, that you are a student. Your enrolment record is one of the papers you need for your residence.

Residence after enrolment

Once you are in Argentina, apply for your student residence on RaDEX, the immigration office's online system. You get your first DNI (ID card) with it.

Papers for Enrolment

Bring originals and copies.

Immigration papers:

Passport with student visa - Your passport and the visa from the embassy.
Electronic enrolment record - Your university's record of your enrolment, signed for you.

Study papers:

School certificate recognition (bachelor's) - Argentina's Ministry of Education must check your school certificate and accept it as valid in Argentina. Ask your advisor how to do this from India or Pakistan.
Degree papers (master's) - Example: UdeSA asks for a copy of your degree stamped by the Ministry of Education, and your marks record (transcript).

Document Preparation Tips

Names must match your passport on every paper.
Keep scans of everything.

Check with your university

Each university sets its own enrolment papers. Ask before you fly.

Choosing Subjects

At the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), the first-year Basic Common Cycle (CBC) has six subjects. You can take up to three in each half of the year.

Keep studying

To extend your residence you must show you are still studying and give a list of the subjects you passed.
