Egypt Admissions

Documents for Egyptian Universities

What you upload to Study in Egypt, the government's official site for international students, and what you hand in to your university after it nominates you (offers you a place).

Document Groups

Your papers fall into three groups.

School papers

Your secondary school certificate and mark sheets, attested.

ID and photos

Passport copy, photos and birth certificate.

Fees and forms

Bank receipts and your nomination papers.

School Certificates from India and Pakistan

Study in Egypt checks your school certificate against the rules for your country.

Indian Class 12 certificate
  • Accepted for both the science and arts streams.
  • Counted the same as an Egyptian school certificate, if you studied the subjects your course needs.
  • The same rules apply as for British school certificates.
Pakistani HSSC (Intermediate) certificate
  • Check the name on your certificate: Intermediate Higher School Certificate (HSSC).
  • You give your secondary (SSC) and higher secondary (HSSC) results.
  • Enter 5 subjects from your HSSC results and 3 from your SSC results.
Certificate age
  • How old your certificate is does not stop you from applying on Study in Egypt.
Personal Papers

These papers prove who you are.

Passport copy
  • Needed for the online application and again at your university.
Birth certificate
  • Handed in at your university after nomination.
Fees and Money Papers

Fees are paid online through Study in Egypt or by bank deposit. The basic medicine degree costs USD 6,000 a year (US dollars) at Minia University and USD 8,000 a year at Ain Shams University. These are different universities, so the fees differ.

Bank receipt
  • If you pay a fee by bank deposit, upload a copy of the receipt to Study in Egypt.
Bank statements for the visa
  • The visa centre in India asks for your last 6 months of personal bank statements, signed and stamped by your bank.

Getting Your Papers Attested

Attested means officially stamped as real. Your university needs an attested original certificate.

Two ways to attest
  • Your country's foreign ministry, then the Egyptian embassy or cultural office in your country.
  • Your country's embassy in Egypt, then Egypt's foreign ministry attestation office.
