Documents for Applying to French Universities

Études en France is the French online application system for students. Students from India and Pakistan upload their papers there. Campus France is the French office that checks them. Then you bring the originals to an interview. Some steps are for Pakistan only and are marked.

School and degree records

Marksheets and certificates.
Pakistan: IBCC attestation (an official stamp that a paper is real) is preferred for school papers (SSC and HSSC).
Pakistan: HEC attestation (an official stamp that a paper is real) is preferred for degrees.

Recognised school

Pakistan: check the French school is in the WHED database (a world list of recognised schools) so Pakistan's HEC can recognise your degree later.

Bring originals

Campus France checks your originals against your uploads at the interview.

CV and Statement of Purpose (SOP)

Explain your study plan clearly. You will talk about it at the interview.

List all study and work with exact start and end dates.

Money Papers

You need these for the visa, after admission.

Money proof

At least EUR 877.50 a month.

Pakistan bank papers

Your bank statement for the last 6 months. Or a person who promises to pay for you (a guarantor) gives a signed legal paper (affidavit), their bank statement and their ID.

Campus France checks every paper you upload.

Originals at the interview

Bring all originals and one set of photocopies. They are checked and returned to you.

Attestation in Pakistan

IBCC for SSC and HSSC papers.
HEC for degrees and transcripts.

Translations

Carry copies of your degrees and birth certificate to France, translated and stamped as correct by an approved translator.

Document Verification Timeline

Submit your file

Pakistan: 1 October to 18 November 2026

Upload all papers and submit by the deadline. India: use the date shown on the Études en France website.

Pay within one week

After the fee request

Pakistan: PKR 30,000 (Pakistani rupees). India: INR 20,000 (Indian rupees).

Fix any errors

Within two working days

Pakistan: resubmit within two working days of a correction request.

Show originals

At the interview

Bring originals, copies and the fee slip.
