Most Greek courses ask for papers from these four groups.
Study papers
School or university certificates and mark sheets.
English proof
A certificate at level B2 (good working English) or higher, such as IELTS or TOEFL.
Personal papers
Motivation letter, CV and reference letters.
ID and forms
Passport copy, signed forms and, for some courses, a birth certificate.
Your school or university papers are the core of your application.
- A certificate that lets you enter university in your home country.
- With an official English translation.
- Still in your last year of school? Some courses accept a letter from your school that says you are expected to pass.
- Grades for your last two years of school.
- Officially translated into English.
- Certified copies, in Greek or English.
- Some courses take them if you have them, such as the Bachelor of Laws at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH).
Degree recognition after admission
These papers show who you are beyond your grades.
- Why you want this course.
- Some courses set a word limit.
- A short, up-to-date CV in English.
- At least one for some bachelor's courses, two for some master's courses.
- Level B2 (good working English) or higher, such as IELTS Academic 6.0 or TOEFL 79.
Essays
- Keep it short. The Bachelor of Laws at AUTH asks for up to 500 words.
Recommendations
- For a master's, at least one letter should be about your earlier degree, as at UoM.
You usually need these after you get an offer, for your place and your visa.
- Many courses ask for a course deposit once you are accepted.
- At the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), the Bachelor of Laws deposit is 1,500 euro (EUR), paid once. You do not get it back.
- For the study visa, you must show at least EUR 400 for each month of study. This is the rule at the visa centre in New Delhi, India.
