Taiwan Student Visa Requirements
Students joining a bachelor's, master's or PhD program in Taiwan need a resident visa. Students from India apply at a Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC) in New Delhi, Mumbai or Chennai. Here is what you need and what it costs.
Who Can Get a Taiwan Student Visa
You can get a resident visa for study if a Taiwan university has admitted you to a full-time degree program.
- Admission to a full-time bachelor's, master's or PhD program.
- The university must be allowed to admit international students.
- Your original final degree certificate and mark sheets, attested.
- Enough money for at least 6 months of living in Taiwan.
- The money can be yours or from a parent, grandparent, brother or sister.
- A scholarship letter must show the amount and the dates.
A health certificate from a hospital, made within the last 3 months.
A certificate from a hospital outside Taiwan must be attested by a Taiwan office.
In India, get it attested by your state, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and TECC.
Special Cases
- Only a provisional certificate? TECC New Delhi gives a 60-day visitor visa. You change it to a resident visa in Taiwan.
- From Pakistan? There is no Taiwan office there. Ask your university which Taiwan office to use.
- Spent 4 weeks or more in Pakistan, Afghanistan or some other listed countries in the past year? You need proof of a polio vaccine.
