Before You Fly

Cyprus Pre-Departure Checklist

Everything to do before you leave India or Pakistan for Cyprus (the Republic of Cyprus, the south of the island), and in your first week there. Entry permit: the paper that lets you enter Cyprus to study. Residence permit: the card that lets you stay while you study.

Final Pre-Departure Preparation

Use this list to get ready for Cyprus. If your university gives you its own list, follow that first. Money amounts are in euros (€).

Why This Checklist Is Essential

  • Missing apostille stamps are the most common reason for delay.
  • Medical and police papers expire, so timing matters.

When To Complete This Checklist

  • Right after your offer: Start getting your apostille stamps and bank proof.
  • About 3 months before your course starts: Send your papers to your university for the entry permit.
  • When your entry permit (blue slip) comes: Book your flight and your room.
  • First 7 days in Cyprus: Hand in your residence permit papers within 7 days of arriving.

One step at a time

Get the police and medical papers last, because they run out, so they are still valid when you send them.
