Pro Tips:
Keep these in your hand luggage (the bag you carry on the plane): your passport, your student visa (code E30B) and your letter of acceptance (the letter that confirms your place).

Final Pre-Departure Preparation

Use this list in the months before you fly and in your first week in Indonesia. The study permit comes from Indonesia's education ministry; your university asks for it first. The student visa (E30B) lets you enter. The stay permit (ITAS) starts when you arrive.

When To Complete This Checklist

  • After your letter of acceptance: Your university asks Indonesia's education ministry for your study permit.
  • After the study permit: Your sponsor applies for your student visa online and you pay the fee. A sponsor is a person or the university where you will study. The sponsor needs an account on the e-visa website (evisa.imigrasi.go.id).
  • In the 3 days before you land: Fill in the All Indonesia arrival card.
  • First week in Indonesia: Report to your international office. UGM asks new students to go within one week of arriving.
