Indonesia Student Visa Requirements
Students from India and Pakistan who join a degree in Indonesia need the student visa (code E30B). A sponsor, a person or the university where you will study, applies for it online on the e-visa website (evisa.imigrasi.go.id). Money is in Indonesian rupiah (IDR).
Conditions for an Indonesia Student Visa
You must meet all of these to get the E30B visa.
- A letter of acceptance from a university in Indonesia.
- The letter must show how long you will study.
- A study permit from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology. Your university applies for it.
- A bank statement for the last 3 months.
- At least USD 2,000 (US dollars), or the same amount in another currency.
- In your name or your sponsor's name. UI accepts only your own bank statement.
Universitas Diponegoro (Undip): a health letter from an accredited hospital for the study permit.
Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM): a letter from a doctor saying you are healthy, when you extend your permit.
Immigration Status
- Do not use a visa on arrival while your student visa is being made.
Good to Know
- Students from India and Pakistan follow the same E30B rules.
- Students from Calling Visa countries get an interview invitation and an extra check. Ask the Indonesian embassy in your country (New Delhi or Islamabad) whether this applies to you.
Papers for the Indonesia Student Visa
Send these files to your sponsor as PDF or JPEG. The sponsor uploads them on the e-visa website.
Scan each paper so every word is easy to read.
Check that your passport is valid for your whole course, so you do not need a new one in Indonesia.
Keep copies of everything on your phone and on paper.

Important Document Guidelines
The Visa a Degree Student Needs
Degree students use one visa, the E30B. You choose how long the first stay lasts. A longer stay costs more but needs fewer extensions.
Key Features
For bachelor's, master's and doctoral study, and for student exchange.
It is a limited stay visa. When you enter, you get a Limited Stay Permit (ITAS, Izin Tinggal Terbatas) and a re-entry permit (the permit to come back after a trip). Both start by themselves when the immigration officer lets you in at the airport.
You may leave and come back while your re-entry permit is valid.
You can extend your stay online on the official e-visa website.
Eligibility Requirements
- A letter of acceptance from a university in Indonesia that shows how long you will study.
- A sponsor, which can be a person or the university where you study.
- Money for your living costs, shown in a bank statement.
Restrictions
- You must not stay longer than your permit.
- You must not do work that your permit does not allow, or sell goods or services.
- Use the visa to enter Indonesia within 90 days of the day it is issued.
| Stay you choose (money in IDR) | 1 year | 2 years | 4 years |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total fee for the visa, stay permit and re-entry permit | IDR 6,000,000 | IDR 8,500,000 | IDR 12,000,000 |
